Le déficit budgétaire grec s'est creusé lors des deux premiers mois de 2011, en raison de recettes moins importantes que prévu conjuguées à des dépenses plus élevées, a annoncé vendredi le ministre des Finances grec.
Alors que l'économie grecque est dans sa troisième année consécutive de récession, il est particulièrement difficile de compenser le déficit budgétaire par des recettes supplémentaires.
Selon ces données, le déficit budgétaire de l'Etat grec sur les mois de janvier et février s'est creusé de 9% sur un an à 1,028 milliard d'euros. Les recettes ont reculé de 9,2% à 7,943 milliards d'euros tandis que les dépenses augmentaient de 3,3%.
La hausse des dépenses est due à un investissement de 351 millions d'euros dans les hôpitaux publics pour honorer des engagements précédents.

iPAD 2
Les consommateurs vont-ils se ruer sur l'iPad 2, dont la commercialisation a débuté aujourd'hui aux Etats-Unis ? De nombreux analystes pensent que les ventes dépasseront celles de la première version lors du week-end de lancement.
Le cabinet d'études Creative Strategies anticipe 500 000 exemplaires écoulés au cours des deux premiers jours. Certains avancent même le chiffre de 600 000. En passant.... l'an dernier, Apple avait vendu 300.000 iPad dans les premières 24 heures.
Plus fin, plus léger et plus rapide que le modèle initial, l'iPad 2 a reçu un accueil favorable. Le spécialiste des produits high tech au Wall Street Journal, Walt Mossberg, a ainsi salué les améliorations, dont les deux caméras, et le maintien du prix à 499 dollars pour la version de base. Des qualités qui l'emportent selon lui sur les quelques défauts et omissions...comme l'incompatibilité avec le logiciel Flash.
"L'iPad 2 maintient Apple en tête dans la course aux tablettes", a-t-il poursuivi. La plupart des analystes sont du même avis. En moyenne, ils anticipent que la firme à la pomme vendra 30 millions de tablettes cette année dans le monde, sur un total de 50 millions pour l'ensemble du marché, d'après des données compilées par Reuters.

The online intelligence research firm Experian Hitwise put out new monthly data that is showing a continued trend… or a blip: Google Inc. slowly losing its dominance in online search. What used to be more than 70% is now lower. While Google shares have been very weak of late and while the stock is at a 3-month low today, there is still no assurance at all that this is a trend that will continue in any single direction.

Les pays émergents du groupe BRIC - Brésil, Russie, Inde, Chine - ont enregistré l'an dernier une hausse exponentielle du nombre de leurs milliardaires, montre le dernier classement annuel du magazine Forbes.
Moscou abrite désormais le plus grand nombre de milliardaires (79) devant New York (58), souligne Forbes aujourd'hui.
L'homme le plus riche du monde, le magnat mexicain Carlos Slim, conserve sa couronne pour la deuxième année consécutive. Il a gagné l'an dernier plus que tous les autres milliardaires recensés , au nombre de 1209 ..Slim vaut 74 milliards .
Derrière lui figurent toujours, dans l'ordre, les Américains Bill Gates, et l'investisseur Warren Buffett.
Forbes note que la Chine a presque doublé le nombre de ses milliardaires, à 115, et que la Russie et le Brésil ont enregistré des hausses des deux tiers, à 101 et 30 respectivement. C'est la première fois que des pays autres que les Etats-Unis comptent plus de 100 milliardaires.
En Inde, six milliardaires de plus ont vu le jour, ce qui porte le total à 55.

CoreLogic leading provider of information, analytics and business services, today released negative equity data showing that 11.1 million, or 23.1 percent, of all residential properties with a mortgage were in negative equity at the end of the fourth quarter of 2010, up from 10.8 million, or 22.5 percent, in the third quarter. The small increase reflects the price declines that occurred during the fourth quarter and led to lower values. An additional 2.4 million borrowers had less than five percent equity, referred to as near-negative equity, in the fourth quarter. Together, negative equity and near-negative equity mortgages accounted for 27.9 percent of all residential properties with a mortgage nationwide.
Nevada had the highest negative equity percentage with 65 percent of all of its mortgaged properties underwater, followed by Arizona (51 percent), Florida (47 percent), Michigan (36 percent) and California (32 percent).

BAC = optimisme
Bank of America shares are rising today after the company's CEO, Brian Moynihan, told attendees at the company's investor day conference that he thinks BAC can earn between $35 and $40 billion a year in pretax earnings when its business normalizes. He also said that by 2013 the bank could be paying up to $12 billion a year in regular dividends.
Notez que présentement BAC donne 1 "cenne" de dividende aux 3 mois.....(*)

With China growing its yellowcake stockpiles, the spot price for uranium is up 17 percent since the start of the year. That’s got analysts calling for $100 uranium by the end of the year. “I think for the early part of the year $75 is a good number, but it could surpass that substantially by year-end,” Pinetree Capital’s VP of business development Philip Williams tells The Energy Report... “By then, we think that the price will be at the $100 level and maybe even higher.”
Williams sees this as just the beginning in a longer-term uptrend ...

The website claims to have 180 million registered users including up to 50 million active users. It has so far received $6 million in venture capital funding since 2007.
