We will see over the long term, but Donald Trump is betting we are closer to the bottom than not.He went on CNBC this morning to discuss his recent purchases, which he made yesterday."I'm not a stock person," Trump said. "I love real estate, but good real estate is very hard to get."
Trump said that he purchased a basket of blue-chip names. He purchased Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), Citigroup (NYSE: C ), Caterpillar (NYSE: CAT), Intel (NASDAQ: INTC), Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ and Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG).

It was just on August 1 that we had financial terms set at 5.4 million shares of common stock in a price range of $15.00 to $17.00 per share. ZTE Corp (SHE: 000063, HKG: 0763), the world's fifth biggest phone maker, expected its shipments to the US to double annually over the next three years and the US would overtake China as its largest market by 2015.
A ZTE executive said Tuesday that the company was confident of selling 80 million cellphones this year including 12 million smartphones. ZTE intends to launch 30 smartphone prototypes this year. It sold 35 million cellphones globally including 4.5 million smartphones in the first half of 2011, up 30% and 400% respectively from the same period a year ago.

Aaron Lee and Joseph Tsai with DigiTimes this morning offer the latest dispatch from Taiwan’s electronics supply chain “market watchers” regarding tablet computers.
Those anonymous, unspecified sources assert growth of non-Apple tablet computers will be 134% next year, at around 44 million to 45 million units, versus perhaps 54 million to 55 million iPads.
I would note that the number of non-iPad shipments is well above what some on the Street have been modeling. For example, a note from last Thursday form Barclays Capital’s Ben Reitzes listed a figure of 78.7 million tablet computers in 2012, with 48.7 million iPads and just 30 million non-iPad units shipping, with the two camps growing about equally at 25% to 26%, year over year.
