Aaron Lee and Joseph Tsai with DigiTimes this morning offer the latest dispatch from Taiwan’s electronics supply chain “market watchers” regarding tablet computers.
Those anonymous, unspecified sources assert growth of non-Apple tablet computers will be 134% next year, at around 44 million to 45 million units, versus perhaps 54 million to 55 million iPads.
I would note that the number of non-iPad shipments is well above what some on the Street have been modeling. For example, a note from last Thursday form Barclays Capital’s Ben Reitzes listed a figure of 78.7 million tablet computers in 2012, with 48.7 million iPads and just 30 million non-iPad units shipping, with the two camps growing about equally at 25% to 26%, year over year.
