e-commerce China

Turnover of e-commerce transactions in China amounted to ¥1.8 trillion in the third quarter of this year, up 47.6% from a year earlier and up 9.1% from a quarter earlier, according to iResearch, a consultancy.
Behind the robust growth was the summer vacation and the Mid Autumn Festival, which have fueled online bookings for hotels and air tickets, and e-commerce websites which have made special offers available between July and September, iResearch said.
Online shopping receipts rose 73.4% year on year and 11.5% quarter on quarter to ¥197.51 billion in the third quarter, iResearch added.
Online shopping receipts are expected to grow between 15% and 20% or up to ¥230 billion during the fourth quarter, with the value of B2B deals - which were up 40.3% year on year and 8% quarter on quarter to ¥3.48 billion in the third quarter - to exceed ¥4 billion, iResearch predicted.
