Bonne nouvelle pour E.nyse

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) 2:30 pm e.t- President Barack Obama said today that the death of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi has ended a dark chapter in the country's history and that the U.S. would stand with the Libyan people as they build a new democracy. "The dark shadow of tyranny has been lifted, and with this enormous promise, the Libyan people now have a great responsibility to build an inclusive and tolerant and democratic Libya that stands as the ultimate rebuke to Gadhafi's dictatorship," Obama said in a statement in the Rose Garden. The U.S. looks forward to the quick formation of an interim government and a stable transition to Libya's first free and fair elections, Obama said. "We are under no illusions. Libya will travel a long and winding road to democracy," Obama said. The U.S. would be a partner in this process, he said.
