The National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, on Monday nullified a previous requirement that wind power equipment must be at least 70% made in China, paving the way for a larger market share of overseas wind power technologies, China Business News reported. China's installed wind power capacity doubled to eight million kW hours in 2009 and is expected to hit 20 million by the end of 2010. Foreign-funded joint ventures accounted for 76% of all firms registered in 2008 and captured an overall 62% share in that year.
